MEET OUR FOUNDERS
Tailored Trails was born out of a passion for nature. Our founder, Aaron Steele, became an Eagle Scout in 1997 after designing, recruiting volunteers, fundraising and building his first ever nature trail for Mimosa Elementary School.
Since then, Aaron has spent the last couple of decades working for his family-owned business, Steele & Associates, doing utility construction, erosion control, applying specialty coatings at aquariums and water maintenance facilities.
He was naturally called back to trail building out of its close connection to the work he was already doing, along with his wife Ashley Steele whose favorite childhood movie was "The Wizard of Oz". Their own version of the yellow brick road and Tailored Trails was then born.
Who We Are
Tailored Trails LLC is a PTBA-certified professional trail construction company located north of Atlanta. We specialize in the skillful design, construction, and maintenance of all types of trails throughout the U.S., including natural surface and impervious trails, bridges, boardwalks, and retaining walls. With decades of experience in utility construction, we also have a deep understanding of drainage problems and utilities.
Each trail we design is tailored to fit our customers, and no single project is alike. Our typical customers include municipalities, HOAs, golf courses, private homeowners, and local businesses.
Our mission is to enhance and preserve the earth's natural resources through the quality design of sustainable trails. By achieving this, we hope to delight our customers and win their loyalty.
Tailored Trails serves on the board of the Professional Trail Builders Association (PTBA) and has received numerous honors since its inception. Several company highlights include a featured presentation at the 2017 Sustainable Trails Conference, a guest speaking engagement on Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio, and several invitations to various conferences around the country. All accolades aside, the company prides itself most on its strong company culture, loyal customers, and distinctive contribution to the environment.
